Re: Will Radio Get Worse Before it Gets Better?
Radio is a for profit communication media. It exists because it makes a profit. If it does not make a profit it ceases to exist. It has always been profitable. Re: Production Rooms Software

Re: What's the next step for stations?
Put up a table in your local mall, ball game, park and ask your listeners and prospective listeners what they want to hear on your station. Ask them when and where they listen to radio. Record them and use those for your new station promos. Use those to sell to your sponsors too. If you do that, the...

Re: Snail mail? Really?
Broadband is still not available in rural markets. That is why the FCC is working on a new broadband policy. I think an email inquiry with at link to a website is appropriate. It you get a require to mail something, call them and ask for what they want to hear and tailor the reel to those needs. The...

Re: Why Radio Must Die
Why not compromise. Have a new talent night or segment? Have the listeners rate it. If they like it you keep playing it. You keep score, like a station branded billboard chart. Great idea for getting local involvement, playing what others stations won't and doing what can't be done any other way. Ge...

That is a really cool idea. It connects with the audience, brings nostalgia and social gathering. The station is doing something tangible for its listeners. Now where did I put my turntable?

Re: Getting Into The Community
LA Marathon was covered live on TV and used to have radio coverage, too. It could be two reasons. The new owner of the event wanted more money to be the exclusive radio media or that stations don't have staff to devote to an all day event anymore. And one more thing, play by pay on a marathon is lik...
