Re: Radio Today and in the Past
Once Radio is in your blood it attaches to your very DNA. At least for those of us who were "raised on the radio" and wanted to be like those we listened to and had some hopes of maybe touching someone who would one day say Oh I used to listen to.... boy those were good times! Like my great former ...

Re: Do we REALLY not know what's wrong?
First off Congrats on 10 years free of Cancer. I am so lucky I got to work with you out in the then barren wasteland known as Coachella. With Consolidation, Consultants, and technology came the mindless radio "Announcer". Not their fault really. But these days you don't have to think. Nothing to cu...

Re: The Industy
Is Radio one of the ONLY industries where help wanted ads post for "Women & Minorities" encouraged to apply. Meaning white males need not apply. I never see this in any other job postings. Not to mention how Radio has become so cookie cutter. Every station sounds the same. Most of the personalities ...

I know this person. Worked with her, and love her to death. She is so right on. Truth Hurts doesn't it. But then no one cares because since Regan's Deregulation fully engulfed the industry and real competition was wiped out, Radio became full of people in programming positions who know nothing of mu...

Re: Do people get jobs from the "Situations Wanted" section?
I'm doubting people are getting gigs from the Job Openings never mind getting jobs out of Situations Wanted. Yet useless humans of Jersey Shore are earning 30grand each, per episode. Circling the drain we are.

Whre were all the radio companies?????
OK, so i just got back from "Career Day" at The NAB. It was stunning to see the total lack of Radio recruiters. Entercom was there. So was Bonneville. Beasley, but they were only looking for Sales. A Small company called Star Radio. Citadel was there but only the Television Division. No Clear Chann...

Re: WXXL Sex Toy Giveaway
Stop bringing your religious beliefs into this. When did Catholics or Christians become dictators of this planet?? Did you ever think that maybe all the winners were Atheists, Agnostics or don't subscribe to your religion? Sounds like the most fun thing Clear Channel has done in a decade. Good for ...

Re: Will Radio Get Worse Before it Gets Better?
Unfortunately Radio Will get worse. A prime example is this ad now on (2/2) The Job Openings: NEW GEN HITS - HIT RADIO TO GO NEEDS PLAYAS. Just by reading the rest of the ad will show you the kind of idiots that are running the industry. And this is just in the "Top 40" Format which is horrible, bu...

Re: What's happening and what should we do about it?
Winterwest has always been the deep thinker. Unfortunately I don't think there is anything WE as Air talent can do. Maybe if those who listen to radio demand their DJ's be Live, Local, and Interesting then the corporate faceless entities may have to respond to their wishes. But are there many peopl...
