It's not the same old thing, til ya hear the same stuff over and over. The library sounds like it's 150 titles deep.

What's interesting is that the songs that make up the core of GROOVE 105.7 are NOT from the 404 -- they are titles from the 212 or the 305.

Look on Mediabase -- no one in the market plays these songs --- WHY? Cuz they don't test longterm.

Prediction -- shiny new penny effect of Groove lasts all of three to six months. Initial impact against Q100 and some of Star 94 -- will smack The Beat around for some cume and maybe WSB-FM ... but longterm effects will be pretty light. They are not gonna grab much from WVEE or the other Urbans.

Why can't Clear Channel get it right in Atlanta?

I for one think GROOVE is gonna squash STAR 94 into the ground. If you are an adult and are bored with non-rhythmic music and don't want to hear a lotta rap, then Groove will getter done. Bet they end up being a 25-44 female cume monster.

It's kinda ironic that while Groove isn't afraid to play Rap/Hip Hop hits all day long, both Q-100 and Star 94 do their best to avoid it.
