KATZ Format Stuff
KATZ Format Stuff
OK, so CC took KATZ in St. Louie and trashed the station and handed the keys to Urban over to Radio One. Admit it, Radio One knows how to do Urban very well.
CC? Not so well, 'cept where they are smart enuff to leave Doc Wynter alone to do his magic.
So what's the deal when the holidays are over at 100.3?
Biggest, fattest music target in town is The Arch according the PPMs (if you believe 'em).
And even if ya don't they are the currency.
So, if this Gen-Ex format is the format du jour at Clear Channel (remember Jammin' Oldies, and a few others, The Bull, etc.?) ... then watch that happen after Christmas. Just sayin' ... watch!

I think it will relaunch as (HOPEFULLY)) as another Alternative, one that is indie/AAA-leaning to counter the Active Rock-tilted KPNT 105.7.

100.3 The Sound replaces KATZ "The Beat". It is a hybrid of Hot AC/Alt/AAA in one Station.
Right now, Modest Mouse's Float On is being played.

Re: KATZ Format Stuff
Mediabase has decided to report this station as a HAC.
Re: KATZ Format Stuff
My question is will 100.3 actually hire any jocks. All I hear are traffic reports in drive time, the occasional recorded intro of a song by a "format voice" and some station drop ins and promos and of course spots. Nothing else.
Would a station with no jocks work in a large market......unfortunately it probably would.
